About Purple Line

Namma Metro's Purple Line is the east-west backbone of Bangalore, stretching 43.5 km from the IT hub of Whitefield through the central business district to the residential neighbourhoods of Kengeri and Challaghatta. It is the city's longest and busiest metro corridor, carrying over 5 lakh commuters daily.

The Purple Line passes through Bangalore's most prominent landmarks — MG Road, Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha, and Majestic bus terminal. The Whitefield-to-Majestic stretch is the lifeline for thousands of IT professionals, while the western extension to Challaghatta has opened up affordable housing corridors in Kengeri and Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
